What Is a Mini Tummy Tuck?
Unlike the traditional tummy tuck surgery, the mini tummy tuck is designed to help patients who require minimal correction to achieve the abdominal contours they desire. The mini tummy tuck is a less invasive procedure than a full tummy tuck.
A mini tummy tuck utilizes a short-scar incision on the lower abdomen, just above the pubic area. It often does not require an incision around the belly button.

The Mini Tummy Tuck Procedure
To begin the procedure, Dr. Andrew Barnett will use a general anesthetic to help keep you comfortable during the surgical process. He will then make an incision above the pubic bone, but low enough that it can remain hidden under your clothes.
Dr. Barnett will then tighten the underlying muscles, remove loose skin from the lower abdomen, and get rid of the stubborn fatty deposits. Liposuction may also be performed at the same time.
Once the necessary corrections are made, he will close the incisions and bandage the treatment area to make sure it is safe. Drains are generally not required.
Recovering From Your Mini Tummy Tuck
Even though the mini tummy tuck is less invasive than the traditional technique, it’s still important that you take some time to rest and recover after the surgery is completed. You can expect the recovery to take about two weeks before you return to normal activities, six weeks for full athletic activity.
You may experience some swelling and bruising initially, but this is temporary and will subside. If it becomes too uncomfortable, we can provide medication to help put you at ease.
