We provide 24/7 (24 hours a day/7 days a week) cover for all our patients.
During normal business hours, you may reach Dr. Barnett through our office –(415) 362-1221.
After hours, to reach Dr. Barnett, please call the same phone number –((415) 362-1221. The recording will direct you to our answering service. The answering service can reach Dr. Barnett via cell phone or pager. If you simply want to leave a message, our office will pick up that message the next business day. If it is urgent, and you need to speak with Dr. Barnett immediately, please let the answering service know that you need to speak with Dr. Barnett urgently, they will reach Dr. Barnett, and he will return your call.
If you want an immediate callback, please be certain to have a working phone number and to be available at that phone number. Dr. Barnett may be returning your call from the hospital or from another location which may appear as a blocked number on your phone. Please be aware of this and answer the call from the blocked number.
If you are requesting additional medication when you call please have the phone number of the pharmacy where you would like Dr. Barnett to call in a prescription. Please be certain that the pharmacy you want the prescription called in to is open at the time you call as many are not open 24 hours a day.
When Dr. Barnett is unavailable, the answering service will notify you that he is being covered by another physician. Dr. Barnett will sign out to another physician if he is out of town, but he will only sign out to physicians who he is certain can provide you with excellent interim care for emergencies. The answering service will contact the covering physician, and that physician will respond to your urgent request.
If you have Dr. Barnett’s mobile phone, please feel free to call him with urgent issues. However, if Dr. Barnett does not immediately answer his cell phone, please call his office –(415) 362-1221 –and the service will reach him. Do not leave messages (Voice or Text) on Dr. Barnett’s cell phone as he may not see those messages for many hours.
